Student to Student Teaching

Older students regularly conduct "class" with younger students. When   Voyager attains its full range of students, this will mean eight to thirteen year old students teaching two to seven year old students. Teams of older students, one acting as the teacher and one or more as assistant teachers, are assigned a group of younger students as their class. Classes are scheduled at least three times a week. Student teachers prepare their lessons based on the needs of their younger students and their own interests.

Periodically, teacher teams complete reports through which they assess the student teaching experience. Questions include What did you teach?  Did the student enjoy learning?  Did you enjoy teaching?  What did you learn? Special comments. The reports reveal the sum and substance of student teaching, that is, student teachers exploring their own experience and finding self-respect.
