Opportunities: You Make a Difference
At Voyager, teachers and
staff members are seen as pivotal to the success of the school and are
therefore chosen carefully with the overall school vision in mind. Applicants
are required to review program materials prior to the interview and to
explore their personal philosophies in relation to school goals and principles.
Classroom teachers must
have verifiable education degrees from state approved teacher education
programs. Salaries and benefits for these positions will be consistent
with (or slightly higher than) the union contracts currently in existence
for DOE public schools.
Because Voyager is committed to excellence and continuous quality improvement,
each staff member must be a lifelong learner with the desire to receive
and provide feedback, reflect upon current practices, and improve skills.
Attending professional development sessions, engaging in collaborative
problem solving and planning, and conducting research to further develop
skills is seen as a regular way of life at Voyager.
Recruitment begins in February and March for the following school year.
The application process begins with submission of a resume and letters
of reference, if available. Depending on the position, applicants may
be required to complete a written questionnaire, submit writing samples,
conduct a sample lesson in a classroom, and/or participate in individual
and/or panel interviews. At least one face-to-face interview is highly
recommended. Video-taped teaching sessions and phone interviews may be
considered in the event that it is not possible to schedule on-site sessions.
Voyager does not provide compensation for relocation of mainland applicants.
Resumes may be submitted via e-mail (JFoster@VoyagerSchool.com)
or FAX: 808-521-9772. Please indicate the position of interest when sending
resumes.
